신·재생에너지 공급 의무화(RPS) 제도란?

500MW 이상의 발전설비를 보유한 발전사업자(공급의무자)에게 총 발전량의 일정비율 이상을 신·재생에너지를 이용하여 공급하도록 의무화한 제도한국수력원자력, 남동발전, 서부발전, 남부발전 등 공급의무발전사의 생산 전력 중 신·재생에너지의 발전 비율을 의무화하여 신·재생에너지발전 설비를 직접 확충하거나 전력거래소의 현물시장에서 신·재생에너지 공급 인증서(REC)를 구입 또는 발전사와의 직접계약으로 의무 공급량을 채워야 하며 해마다 의무공급량 비율은 증가하고 있음
